This course provides you with the skills to perform key administrative tasks in Oracle Database 10g, including managing database objects such as tablespaces, tables, views, indexes, datafiles, and more.

Proper management of user accounts is a key part of securing your database. The DBA needs to be able to identify, restrict, and audit user activity to make sure that all user actions are appropriate and not threatening the security of your system. By monitoring how the system is operating, a database administrator will be ready to make any necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance. You will manage users and security by working with user accounts, privileges, roles, passwords, resource limits, and the audit trail and use these tools to monitor the performance of databases.

You will use several features in Oracle Database 10g that enable the DBA to quickly move data from one location to another. You will also examine how the DBA can quickly recover data if a failure occurs, such as a statement failure or session failure, and how to manage and size the unique tablespace that is dedicated to this type of recovery.
