Overview of Testing and Assessment System

Questionmark Perception is a complete assessment management system that enables you to create questions and organize them into exams, quizzes, tests or surveys. You can schedule people to take the assessments, deliver them in a variety of ways and then view the results in twelve different report types. Perception offers a cost-effective, easy way to utilize computerized assessments that not only measure knowledge, skills and attitudes but also enhance the learning process. Perception can be integrated with other systems e supports major standards including IMS QTI, AICC, SCORM and HR-XML.

Test Authoring

You can author questions using wizards in a Windows environment and then store and edit them with local or shared (remote) repositories. The authoring wizards make it easy to create 22 different types of questions. You can add multimedia files including audio, video, Adobe Flash, and Adobe Captivate to Perception questions. It is easy to assemble and publish assessments from the questions you have created.

Test and Assessment Scheduling

Perception server software enables you to schedule individuals, groups or subgroups to take assessments. Candidates and respondents can log in, with a user name and password if desired, to take a test or respond to a survey. For high-stakes exams, you can require delivery at specific test centers and require a proctor to log-in.

Delivering Quizzes, Tests and Assessments

Online quizzes, surveys and tests can be delivered via Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari. For high stakes exams, you can deliver to test centers and use Questionmark Secure to limit the use of print, screen sharing, navigation and save-to-disk functions. You can also deliver asynchronously via Questionmark to Go, which enables remote users to synchronize from their Windows PCs to their web servers. Using Print and Scan, you can print assessments that participants answer on bubble sheets – results can be scanned into Perception for scoring and reporting.

Reporting on Results and Activities

When a participant completes an assessment, the results are stored in Perception’s answer database. Administrators can then view these via a browser. Perception offers twelve pre-defined report styles but you can also define your own reports. Answers can also be exported to Excel for custom reporting.

Workflow Management

Perception’s Workflow Management module allows organizations to define and enforce processes and rules to control the development and deployment of questions. It also helps create an audit trail essential for legally defensible high-stakes exams.
